  1. Pie Making in PreK

    December 6, 2023

    Belgrade Central School recently held their special annual tradition of making pies with their preschool families to donate to local Thanksgiving gatherings! The young learners loved rolling up their sleeves and mixing the ingredients with parents and even siblings! The final products looked delicious. Thank you to the BCS families for joining in helping the preschool students spread kindness in the community this year! #WeAreRSU18

  2. Family Game Night

    Leanne Moll and Kathi Michaud, both Belgrade Central School Title 1 teachers, organized a Family Game Night and it was tremendous! Families explored many fun board games during the event. This special time wrapped up with a raffle where a student from each grade level was able to choose a board game of their own! #WeAreRSU18

  3. Rainbow Farms Visits BCS

    November 21, 2023

    Jacob Bragg and family recently came to Belgrade Central School to present to each lunch session! They talked about farming, tending to cows, and how milk goes from a farm to the school! Rainbow Valley Farm sponsors the milk bins in the school that keep students’ milk extra cold for them to enjoy at lunch. It was such a treat having them visit! #WeAreRSU18

  4. Preschoolers Explore Belgrade Fire Station

    Mrs. Lenentine and the Belgrade Fire Department invited BCS preschool students to visit them and learn about fire safety. They showed students firefighters in full uniform, fire trucks, and the ambulance! What a fun activity for the students and their families! #WeAreRSU18


  5. Music Instruction at Belgrade Central

    Rhythm Work in 3rd Grade Music Classes: Students in Mrs. Paradis’ third grade music classes have been doing a lot of work with rhythm this trimester! They have been reviewing the names of notes and rests, saying rhythms using musical terms, and performing them using body percussion. They recently worked in small groups using rhythm cards to create a pattern, added body percussion sounds, then performed each one! Lots of clapping, stomping, patting, and snapping patterns were created in this hands-on activity!

    Bucket Drumming in 4th + 5th Grade Music Classes: The music room has been rockin’ out as students in Mrs. Paradis’ fourth and fifth grade music classes have been playing bucket drums to play-along videos. Songs have included, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” “Best Day of My Life,” and “Safe and Sound.” #WeAreRSU18


  6. Mrs. Bean Invites a Special Gift

    Ever wonder why it doesn’t hurt when you breathe? Mrs. Murray, a respiratory therapist and grandmother of a Belgrade Central School student, joined Mrs. Bean’s class recently to answer that question and many more! She spoke about her profession and shared a tremendous amount of knowledge with Mrs. Bean’s fifth grade class! The students were a tremendous audience, asking questions, being active listeners, and showing great engagement in the presentation! Thank you, Mrs. Murray, for joining the class and thank you, Mrs. Bean, for recognizing the power of having guest speakers elaborate on classroom knowledge through their professional and expert lens! #WeAreRSU18


  7. “ABC” Awesome Belgrade Crew Assembly

    Belgrade Central School recently gathered in the gymnasium to celebrate their first “ABC” (Awesome Belgrade Crew) assembly. In this assembly, they honored students who were named Students of the Month and winners of Eagle tickets. They invited family members of those named Student of the Month to join them at this special event, as a great additional surprise! Mr. Bickford and Mrs. Stevens helped them to unveil the school song written by Mr. Bickford! Mrs. White’s second grade class did a magnificent job leading the school in the new song! #WeAreRSU18




  8. Pizza with Dads

    October 25, 2023

    In an effort to engage the community within their building, Belgrade Central School invited Dads and positive male role models of their students to eat pizza and learn about volunteering within the Watch Dogs Program at BCS. The Dads and students ate dinner together, got some laughs as they chatted through the provided “Would you rathers…” on the table, and signed up to volunteer a day of their time to be a positive male presence in their building! What an amazing showing it was, with over 110 people joining them! A special thanks to Mrs. Wade, Belgrade’s amazing school counselor, who coordinated this program and was a tremendous part of the evening! Thank you to all the Dads who took part, helped clean up the tables, and signed up to be a part of the BCS schoolhouse throughout the year! #WeAreRSU18


  9. Mathematical Surgery

    October 18, 2023

    Belgrade students in Mrs. Bean’s class recently performed mathematical surgery with their “syringe highlighters.” They cut into some rectilinear shapes to find area!
