After crafting and flying their own paper airplanes, students recorded vivid details of the experience.   2. Holiday Harmonies

    The Belgrade Central School Student Council, along with the fifth-grade classes, brought holiday cheer to the Veterans Home in Augusta with a joyful performance of seasonal tunes. Guided by Student Council leaders Mrs. Browning and Mrs. Randall, the students were joined by Mr. Hatt and Mr. Clark, whose guitar accompaniment added a special touch to the students’ beautiful voices. The visit was a heartwarming experience and a meaningful way for Belgrade Central students to give back during the holiday season. #WeAreRSU18

  3. Reindeer Training Takes Off

    Each year, Mrs. McGuan rings in the holiday season at Belgrade Central School with her beloved reindeer training tradition. Students leap, dodge, and “train” just like reindeer while festive music fills the gym. The energetic, joy-filled activity remains a student favorite and a wonderful start to the holidays. #WeAreRSU18


  4. Read-a-Thon Adventure Begins

    December 3, 2025

    The annual BCS Read-a-Thon has officially launched! This year’s theme, Camp Read-A-Lot, encourages students to explore new stories and adventures while working toward a school-wide goal of 125,000 minutes read. Each classroom has chosen its own troop name, and everyone is working together to earn the ultimate reward—a school-wide s’more party! With creativity, teamwork, and lots of great books, BCS is ready to read its way to success. #WeAreRSU18


  5. Coffee, Canines, and Courage

    November 24, 2025

    The BCS Student Council kicked off a special Community Morning that brought students, staff, and local heroes together. The event began with coffee and donuts shared between student council members and Officer Lefferts, the school’s SRO. From there, students explored fire trucks and police cars, and watched exciting fire and police dog demonstrations. The best part? The entire event was planned by student council members themselves! It was a wonderful example of how empowering students with leadership opportunities can spark meaningful connections and community pride. #WeAreRSU18


  6. First Grade Pumpkin Book Projects

    At Belgrade Central, Jill Mackenzie’s and Kathleen Vincent’s first grade classes recently completed their very first book projects! After reading a story with their families, students decorated pumpkins to represent the main characters from their books. The result? A colorful and creative pumpkin patch filled with imagination and literary inspiration! Talk about a festive way to strengthen those literacy skills! #WeAreRSU18

  7. A Fair to Remember

    Autumn is the perfect time for outdoor adventures and fall festivals! Second graders in Mrs. Bradbury’s and Mrs. White’s classes of Belgrade Central had an incredible time at The Common Ground Fair this fall! Students explored exhibits, connected classroom learning to real-world experiences, and enjoyed a beautiful day of discovery. Many families joined in on the fun, making it an extra special outing for all. Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s trip! #WeAreRSU18


  8. Dot Day Fun in First Grade

    First graders at Belgrade Central School enjoyed another fantastic Dot Day celebration! Each year, Mrs. Vincent and Mrs. Mackenzie turn Dot Day into a hands-on learning adventure filled with dot-themed math, art, and stories. The classrooms were full of creativity, laughter, and bright ideas as students explored how a single dot can spark imagination. Way to go, Grade 1, for making Dot Day a great day once again! #WeAreRSU18


  9. Rockin’ in Our School Shoes

    It wouldn’t be the start of the school year at Belgrade Central School without Mrs. Mackenzie’s first graders rocking in their school shoes! The annual tradition continued with another fun photo shoot of first grade “rockstars,” now proudly displayed in the hallways. Of course, Mr. Clark couldn’t resist joining the band! #WeAreRSU18


  10. Fearless Fifth Graders

    September 18, 2025

    Students in Mrs. Bean and Mrs. Campbell’s fifth grade class at Belgrade Central School kicked off the year with an unforgettable field trip to Camp Tracy’s outdoor ropes course, organized by physical education teacher, Pam McGuan.

    The self-led course offered two levels of difficulty, giving students the chance to climb to great heights, navigate challenging obstacles, and even zipline between platforms. Along the way, they encouraged one another, problem solved as a team, and celebrated their successes. It was the perfect team-building adventure to begin the school year! #WeAreRSU18
