Popcorn Science
Kindergarteners in Mrs. Potts and Ms. A’s classes at Belgrade Central recently gathered as scientists to investigate the question: How does popcorn pop? Mrs. Potts shared the book, The Popcorn Book, with both classes as students brainstormed a hypothesis for the prompt, “What will happen to a popcorn kernel when it goes into oil?” Curious learners were so excited to test and observe the results of the investigation! You can imagine the excitement when popcorn leaped out of the pan with hot oil! This fun experiment ended with a sampling of various popcorn flavors to determine the students’ favorite popcorn toppings: butter, cheddar, or caramel! #WeAreRSU18
